Welcome to English Language linear A Level. This page is for course codes 3;ELB and 4;ELB. You will find all sorts of materials on this site to help you with your study of language. Then, as we get on with the teaching, you can start using the other sections as they become relevant to you. In order to complete your 4 hours of independent learning for the subject each week, please click on the Independent Learning tab. This will take you through to quizzes on different texts, booklets with texts and follow-up questions and a reading log for you to record the wider reading you complete. We follow the OCR A Level English Language specification (Code: H470) (Paper Codes are: Paper 1 - H470/01; Paper 2 - H470/02; Investigation and Academic Poster - H470/03) The structure for your A level assessments are outlined in the document below: A Level English Language Assessment. To have a look at practice papers, please click on the Exam Practice section and to have a look at some coursework exemplars, please click on the Investigation & Academic Poster section. Whilst assessment is important, try not to let it dominate your thinking and enjoy exploring linguistic issues both within and beyond the curriculum.
