Files can be added directly to a course page although try to avoid a long list of files without a break or subheading. Name files consistently so that students can find what they are looking for easily.
Folders can be set up to display, inline on a course page or appear on a separate page. Examples of both are shown below.
Things to consider when using folders:
Make sure the documents within the folders have meaningful names. Documents within folders are sorted in alphabetical order, so if necessary change the names of the documents so they display in a meaningful way.
Use subfolders to help organise your documents within a folder.
Don't add too many documents to a folder - it can be difficult for students to find a resource if the list is too long.
Consider how you display your folder or folders on your course page - folders can be displayed inline on a course page or set to open on a separate page. You can also opt to display the folder expanded or not. See below for examples of different combinations.
