ART PHOTOGRAPHY
Topic outline
-
Photography can be followed on a media pathway foundation course or a traditional art and design foundation that both have nil or very low fees. These courses enable you to broaden your portfolio of work and to discover more about potential higher level courses that you could progress to. You may discover new destinations that you never knew existed or that you incorrectly believed were not right for you.
Photography can be followed on a year zero photography course but has fees the same as a degree course year. This is useful to gain access to a degree course when you don't quite qualify for the Photography degree that you want. These exist for other subjects such as Fashion as well.
Foundation Degree courses are not the same as Foundation courses(!). They are two year courses that are like 'degree light'. They have lower entrance requirements and less academic written content. If a student succeeds on one they can choose to convert it to full degree with an extra year and written dissertation.
Photography can be followed by direct application to a degree course, this does not have to be called a Photography course, it could be a Fine Art or an applied Media course where you specialise in Photography.
