Hardware Device of the week #6: Solid State Drives
Complete a 1 sided A4 paper summarising how a Solid State drive works.
Split up your timing into 45 minutes of research and summarising and 45 mins to create the sheet. The coding will take different people different amounts of time but shouldn’t be more than 45 mins.
You should state where all your information has come from… Feel free to copy n paste diagrams.. but text should be re-written so it make sense to you. But I will accept a URL or clear book name
SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS
- Describe key characteristics of a solid state drive
(1 paragraph with supporting images/diagrams)- Just an overview of usual uses/benefits/drawbacks
- Describe how NAND memory is created using a floating gate Transistor
(1 paragraph with supporting images/diagram) - Describe the "components"
- Explain the function of each part
- Why is it non-volotile
- How the data is logically stored
- describe the use of blocks
