Organisation

Organisation Tip #2 - Setting up your college files

For everyday use, you’ll need a suitable set of light files, such as basic ring binders.

ring binders

Make sure you organise these clearly too, especially if you decide to use one binder for multiple subjects.

You could split the file dividers between different teachers (if you have more than one for a course), or different days, so you know where you should have filed that homework for Tuesday next week…!

Every time you add some work to your files, you may want to use a code on the top of each sheet of paper to indicate the topic. You could use the specification number (e.g. 3.1.a.) or a code of your making, such as a coloured square or a shorthand name for the topic. This will help you later when you come to search through your notes for revision.
