Hi All,
There will be a test in the final week of half-term that will cover all the content you have covered so far this term:
- Basic Skills
- SI Units, Algebra, Powers of Ten,
- Materials
- Density, Springs, Youngs Modulus and of properties of materials
- Waves
- Basics concepts, polarisation, simple refraction problems
The test will be conducted online in the final week of the half-term outside of your normal lessons and is currently planned for Wednesday 14th October.
The test is designed to be 1 hr 15 mins in length BUT you will be allowed 2 hours to allow for extra time and any technical difficulties you may encounter.
In order for the test to be fair, we assume you will conduct it in a "reasonable open-book" manner. You may refer to your notes and the eTextbooks for reference BUT you must not communicate with anyone or try to find the answers or mark schemes and straight copying is not allowed. To stop cheating between friends the quiz will have randomised questions, and different 'number sets' for numeric questions. The will be a mix of calculations, multiple-choice and short-answer written questions, and questions that involve the data analysis skills you have been developing in labs
So that you have experienced the style of assessment a short Practice Test is available for you to play with. (the score for this won't be used for anything!)
If you have any problems with any part of the planned assessment please let me know ASAP.
Many thanks
Joe
