Writing about what is in the picture and what the photographer did.

Framing:
How is the image constructed within it’s frame? What did the photographer do?
Orientation- usually landscape or portrait way round.
Foreground/mid-ground/background. Negative space. Vectors- how do the elements of the image draw the eye around the composition?
Camera angle Viewpoint, where was the camera? What difference does this make?
Focus:
Sharp or blurred,
Depth of field- how does this draw attention to particular elements?
Light:
Where does the light come from? What difference does this make?
Range of contrast?
Shadow?
Colour: Saturated or muted, or naturalistic? Colour codes/ matching or contrasting?
Body Language:
Posture,
Facial expression
Gaze (where eyes look)
Proximity/ close or far between figures
