Study Skills Core Modules
Introduction
What is this all about?
In order to comfortably survive your time here at college, you will need to develop your study skills.
Study skills help to solve many of the problems students face when studying A level, BTEC or GCSE courses, and they’re also the skills you’ll need to be successful in your future studies and careers after college.
The Core Study Skills Modules will look at the main study skills you'll need for college. You can complete each module either within the relevant suggested term (see table below), or all the sections any time before the end of the academic year. And you can always come back and re-read and download the relevant information and resources again whenever you need to.

What do you have to do?
The minimum amount of work involved is to read through each module and complete and upload the Review Quizzes at the end. You can do this during your study periods, or you may get to do this during your Personal Tutor sessions.
You can also improve your skills further by completing all the relevant 'quick activities' within each Core Module. The module instructions will tell you which activities are essential (i.e. really useful to do!) and which are optional.
Whenever you complete a Quick Activity, you can upload your work online. If you have completed the work on paper (handwritten), scanned versions will also be acceptable - all the large printers in college have a scan-to-email facility, which is free to use.
